Well Pharmacy, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy chain, begin giving Covid vaccinations in eight community pharmacies from this week across Northern Ireland.
From next week local residents will be able to book their vaccine appointment online, which is available for those in the correct priority group due for their first dose. The Covid vaccinations will be carried out by a Well Pharmacist in a private consultation room. Those invited for their first dose at Well pharmacy, will return for their second.
“We’re really pleased that 8 of our pharmacies in Northern Ireland join this historic mass vaccination campaign, and that we can play our part”, said Yvonne Williams, NHS Business Partner and Pharmacy Superintendent for Northern Ireland of Well Pharmacy.
“Pharmacists are at the heart of community healthcare and have been working tirelessly over the last 12 months to support patients and ensure everyone has their medication as well as taking pressure off the NHS and GPs.”
“Community pharmacy is a vital health resource and I’m sure the local community will welcome being able to get their vaccine from a familiar face in such a convenient location. Every vaccination is a life saved or protected.”
Well are proud to support the Government and NHS in the rollout of the largest national vaccination programme in history with a total of 15 community pharmacy sites currently live across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with hopefully more to follow.
