A former aerospace engineering company director has been appointed as Celesio’s new head of Sangers AAH.
Ian Wilson will join Sangers AAH at the end of April and will continue the pharmaceutical wholesaler’s focus on providing a leading service to its customers in Northern Ireland as well as delivering operational excellence.
The Sangers and AAH Belfast business units have been managed by Peter Surgenor since the acquisition of United Drug Sangers by Celesio in July 2016. Peter announced his retirement in February and leaves at the end of July.
Ian Wilson joins Sangers AAH from The RLC Group, where he has worked since 2007, most recently as Site Operations Director. Having graduated with a degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Ian has worked in a number of roles across a broad range of sectors.
Ashley Cowen, Fulfilment Director at Celesio UK, said: “Our vision is to cement ourselves as market leaders and continue to innovate and grow our business – it’s great to have Ian on board to help us achieve that.
“It is essential Sangers AAH continues providing our customers with class leading service, based on local expertise and operational excellence, which is why we have assembled a team of strong, supportive and passionate leaders. Ian brings with him a wealth of operational experience and knowledge, as well as a keen focus on developing customer relationships —the perfect fit for our business and our customers.”
Outside work, Ian is a keen sportsman, with interests in cycling, gym training and rugby. He is married with two sons, aged 16 and 10.
