Today, four team members from Alliance Healthcare UK are taking on a challenge, to travel over 1,000 miles, across four countries to visit all 17 Alliance Healthcare sites in under 40 hours. The team, known by colleagues as the “Fantastic Four”, will also take on special challenges voted by colleagues throughout the journey to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team aim to raise £10,000 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and, along with the 40hour challenge, have organised a nationwide raffle anda “Wear it Green”dayso other Alliance Healthcare team members can show their support. There will also be welcome parties at each site, including a street party celebration,with Macmillan representative Julie Holland at the Chessington Support Centre.
All money raised will help Macmillan continue to provide emotional, financial, medical and practical support to people affected by cancer.
“Fantastic Four” team member, Michael Fowler, Head of Field Operations said: “We are full of excitement and nervesfor everything this challenge entails; covering the distance in the expected time will be daunting enough, but completing the challenges set by each site is really going to test us!”
The challenge will commence at the Alliance Healthcare Belfast Service Centre, when the team head to the coast,and then travel by ferry to Scotland. After visiting the Alliance Healthcare Livingston Service Centre, the team head south to Manchester, where they then divert to Wales. There, the team will briefly join the Alliance Healthcare Swansea Service Centre team members own 24-hour exercise challenge, before heading to Exeter Service Centre and towards London. It’s then back north for the team to visit seven further sites before finishing at the Alliance Healthcare Leeds Service Centre. Along the way, the team will also be taking a pit stop at two pharmacies to pick up a special donation from supporting customers.
