The 2027 Pharmacy In Focus Awards are officially open, with a fantastic line-up of categories ready to celebrate the very best of pharmacy across Northern Ireland.
And entering couldn’t be easier.

And there’s one award you won’t find an entry form for. The Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy Award is personally selected by the UCA-NI Board and kept under wraps until it is revealed live on the night.

The customer award
This is the voice of the patient brought to life.
Launched in 2026, The Customer Award had a fantastic response, with patients across Northern Ireland getting behind the pharmacy teams that make a real difference to them. For 2027, we want to make it even bigger.
Every vote comes directly from the people who matter most, the patients who walk through your doors and trust you with their care.
By scanning a QR code, patients can vote for the pharmacy team that has supported, guided and cared for them, while sharing the story behind their choice. Their testimonials will help bring each pharmacy’s impact to life, and their votes will decide the winner.
This award is about more than a trophy. It celebrates the relationships, trust and everyday moments that show exactly what community pharmacy means to the people it serves.
2026 gave us some incredible stories. We can’t wait to see who Northern Ireland’s patients get behind in 2027.
Commitment to health and wellbeing
This category recognises pharmacists, including independent prescribing pharmacists, and their teams who are using their skills to make a real difference in patient care. It is open to all pharmacists and supporting teams, whether working as contractors, employees, or in practice based settings, and celebrates those making an exceptional contribution to their communities through safe, accessible and innovative pharmacy services, including prescribing where applicable, that improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
Working in Partnership
This category is open to all pharmacy teams, whether independent or part of a larger group, who can demonstrate meaningful achievements through close collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Community Pharmacy Service
This category honours the dedicated individuals within pharmacy teams who have served their local communities in a single pharmacy for more than 20 years. Nominations must be submitted by pharmacy business owners or managers.
Advancing Independent Pharmacy
This award celebrates pharmacists and their teams who have embraced new technologies and fresh ways of working to transform patient care, improve safety and drive greater operational effectiveness.
Pharmacist of the Year
This category is open to contractor and employee pharmacists working in either independent or group pharmacies who can demonstrate a strong record of innovative and progressive initiatives. Entries should highlight how their work enhances and showcases the vital role of community pharmacy in healthcare. Nominations may be submitted by the pharmacists themselves, their colleagues, or pharmacy business owners.
Community Pharmacy of the Year
This category is open to all pharmacies, whether independent or part of a chain, that can demonstrate a strong business profile and a proven track record of delivering initiatives and projects that benefit their local communities.
Outstanding Contribution to pharmacy
Outstanding contribution to Pharmacy is decided by the board of UCA-NI and is announced on the evening of the awards.
