June 2025 CRA results see 89.5% pass rate

PSNI Celebrates Outstanding June 2025 CRA Results with 89.5% Pass Rate

A total of 171 trainee pharmacists sat the Common Registration Assessment (CRA) in Northern Ireland on 24 June 2025, with 153 candidates successfully passing. This results in an impressive 89.5% pass rate, a figure that reflects not only academic success but a much bigger story about dedication, potential and the future of pharmacy in Northern Ireland.

This isn’t just a statistic to nod at, it’s a bold statement of intent from a new generation of pharmacy professionals. The CRA is no easy milestone. It demands more than knowledge alone. It asks for clear clinical judgment, a sharp ethical compass and the ability to apply safe and effective practice in real-world settings. The fact that so many rose to the challenge speaks volumes.

Passing the CRA marks a critical step toward joining the Register of Pharmacists and opens the door to a professional career that is as rewarding as it is vital. For Northern Ireland, these are not just successful candidates—they’re the next wave of pharmacy leaders, community anchors and healthcare problem-solvers.

Dr Geraldine O’Hare, President of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society NI, summed it up perfectly:

“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all who have successfully passed the registration assessment.

These outstanding results are testament to your hard work and dedication and deserve to be celebrated.

I look forward to welcoming all successful candidates onto the Register of the Pharmaceutical Society NI.

Together, we will continue to strive for excellence in the pharmacy profession in Northern Ireland and make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community.”

Canice Ward, CEO of the Society, also offered a broader acknowledgement:

“While celebrating these fantastic results for the candidates, we also want to acknowledge everyone who has contributed to their journey to this point in their careers.

The time, dedication, and extensive expertise that educational supervisors and foundation training year leads contribute is vital to the advancement of the profession. The support you offer to each trainee is clearly visible, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you.

For those who unfortunately weren’t successful on this occasion, there are a range of options available, with relevant information on the registration assessment web page. Our charity partner PASS can also provide support and practical advice if required.”

This moment is not just an endpoint but a launchpad. Northern Ireland’s pharmacy future looks bright, and this year’s results light the path ahead.

Huge Congratulations from everyone at Pharmacy In Focus!
