The Ulster Chemists' Association Presidentís Ball raised a cracking £5,560 at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast on January 23 earlier this year, all in the name of charity. Representatives from benefitting organisations Africare and the Ulster Cancer Foundation were joined by outgoing president James McKay at the official cheque presentation last month.
"Thanks to the Ulster Chemists Association for their generous donation which will help provide UCF care and support services, free of charge, to local cancer patients, carers and their family" Joyce Savage from UCF said.
Pharmacists play a valuable role, supporting cancer patients in communities throughout Northern Ireland. Their competency and accessibility helps patients with their treatment as well as signposting them to other local support services, such as those provided by UCF. We are thrilled to receive this tremendous amount which will have such a positive impact on many people who have been affected by the disease. |
