As one of the most lucrative and valued sectors throughout Northern Ireland, the pharmaceutical industry constantly finds itself hitting the headlines and needs a well established and widely respected journal to carry breaking stories throughout the year.


NI Pharmacy in Focus is the only official trade title of the Ulster Chemists’ Association (UCA), the Northern Irish wing of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPA). The title’s objective is to deliver important, relevant and insightful editorial to the UCA member pharmacists, pharmacy staff, industry opinion formers and buyers of pharmacy products and services.

Community pharmacy is currently within an immense period of change and restructuring. With the challenges to be faced with the implementation of the new pharmacy contract, pharmacists benefit from having an important forum to stay in touch with the wider pharmacy network in Northern Ireland. Profile Publishing provides the UCA a crucial vehicle for communicating with its membership by producing the official title and also the extremely high quality and widely utilised Yearbook and Diary.

NI Pharmacy in Focus has also pioneered a number of informative and valuable supplements for pharmacy professionals including CPD in Focus, Pre-reg in Focus and Diabetes in Focus as well as regular up-to-the-minute clinical articles and research.


What is the UCA?

Founded in 1901 and representing 99 per cent of all community pharmacy in Northern Ireland, the UCA works closely with various pharmacy bodies to assist all members, but particularly the small independent, in providing training and development for their team in order to enhance their business.
The UCA is continuing to work with pharmaceutical companies to ensure that products and services meet the needs of the Community Pharmacy, in providing the highest standards of care for customers and the local community as a whole.

NI Pharmacy in Focus is distributed to all pharmacists on the Pharmaceutical Register of NI as well as all pre-registration trainees, personnel in related organisations and representatives of the pharmaceutical trade.
